The WACKAMOKO Series

Tony, the entrepreneurial and "herbal" educated day-one friend, arrives at Pablo's House only to find his partner asleep, an afternoon drunken slumber no less than expected. The two go for a walk to find their secret spot in the rainforest to philosophise and relax with their customary intoxicants.

Aya and Kai are a new couple that met at college, one thing that Kai knows about her is that she is superstitious, especially when it comes to things like skin walkers. Kai wants to go to the convenience store after class but the night is dark and Aya stays in.

On this fine day in Chicago, a young lady is conscious of the time. She seems to plan her day exactly to the point around one simple thing, the question is who, or what is she waiting for?

“If your soul is silenced, swing to the sound of serenity”

This photograph captures a Canboulay Riots reenactment in Trinidad and Tobago, featuring the play The Kambule Riots, written by Eintou Springer. Emphasizing its cultural significance, the title uses the African spelling, with Kambule, a Kikongo word meaning procession or the people’s procession. Canboulay, derived from the Patois Cannes Brûlée, meaning burning of the cane, reflects the historical struggles of enslaved people and their resilience in reclaiming their traditions and identity

After a year studying photography in Chicago, I realised my fascination with film, drawn by its demand for a broader skill set and its integration of photography into directing, producing, and acting roles.

Currently enrolled at ENMU, I initially pursued digital filmmaking, diving deeper into the art form and merging my love for photography with the boundless possibilities of visual storytelling. I remain at the same university but have transitioned my academic focus to broadcasting as I work toward a career in television. Despite this shift, filmmaking continues to be a core part of my creative identity, and I carry that foundation in visual storytelling into my work.
